MEP®. EFFET Béton ciré is a fine-grained mortar allowing the nuanced finish of a waxed concrete effect indoors.

  1. Surface Preparation:

    • Remove all traces of grease, oil, and cement laitance.
    • Dust off.
    • Caution: the residual humidity of the floor should not exceed 5%.
    • In the event of holes or significant flatness defects, fill with MEP®. REP Sol.

  2. Application of primer

    • MEP®. PRIM GP is ready to use and must not be diluted.
    • It is applied with a roller, brush or rubber sponge, taking care to distribute the product evenly on the substrate at a rate of 150 to 250 g/m².
    • Do not leave over dosage or shortages.
    • Drying time: 1 to 4 hours depending on the type of surface, temperature and relative humidity.

  3. Application of the decorative coating

    Application No 1 - Coarse coat
    • Mix with 5 to 6 litres of DURA®. LATEX per 20 kg bag until a soft and homogeneous mortar is obtained.
    • Add the colorant dose and stir to homogenize the colour.
    • The paste obtained must be left to rest for 5 minutes and then stir again before use.
    • Spread the "coarse coat" mortar with the stainless steel smoothing machine, with a wide movement, in cross passes.
    • Take care to maintain a thin layer sufficient to easily allow evacuation of air bubbles.
    • Allow to dry for 4 to 24 hours before applying the second coat.

  4. Application #2 - Fine coat

    • Stir with 7 to 8 litres of water per 20 kg bag until a soft and homogeneous mortar is obtained.
    • Add the colouring dose and stir to homogenize the colour.
    • The paste obtained must be left to rest for 5 minutes and then stir again before use.
    • Spread the "Fine coat" mortar with a stainless steel smoothing tool by ironing the product.
    • Allow to dry for 4 to 24 hours before applying the second coat.

  5. Stabilization of soil porosity :

    - MEP®. PRIM BP is ready to use and must not be diluted.
    - It is applied with a varnish roller, taking care to distribute the product evenly on the surface at a rate of 150 g/m².
    - Drying time: 15 min to 2 hrs depending on the nature of the surface, temperature and relative humidity.

  6. LIMITS OF USE
    SURFACES TO AVOID

    Do not apply:
    • Outdoors
    • On cracked or unstable ground
    • On wooden floor
    • On a plaster base
    • On floors subject to rising dampness
    • In premises with heavy traffic

  7. RECOMMENDATIONS

    • Use a suitable protective varnish: scratch and puncture resistant.
    • Application temperature between 5° C and 35° C.
    • Observe expansion and splitting joints.
    • Do not add water to the setting mixture.
    • Do not use a mixture that has started to set.

  8. PRACTICAL INFORMATION.

    • Shelf life: 6 months from the date of manufacture, in original unopened packaging, stored in a dry place.
    • Tools: Slow electric mixer, trowel, stainless steel reading light, lacquer roller.
