MEP®. MUR PATE is a resin base surface coating containing graded aggregates and fillers
MEP®. MUR PATE is design to be apply to interior surfaces and to give a “ultra-smooth” finish
MEP®. MUR PATE is suitable to:
▪ Ensure that surfaces to be skimmed are clean, sound and free of dust, release agent, fungi and/or any material which may affect adhesion
▪ All surfaces must be of good alignment and blemish free. Faults in the background may be evident in the finished work
▪ All unsound areas, flaky or peeling layers must be removed and repair
▪ Surface should be pre-wetted prior to application
Notes
(1) New walls must be allowed to cure for minimum periods to ensure that movement does not affect the rendering
(2) Very porous surfaces should be primed with MEP®. PRIM GP and allowed to dry (“touch dry”)
MEP®. MUR PATE is supplied ready-mixed
▪ Prior application - Mix thoroughly using a low speed mechanical mixer or by hand mix using a trowel
▪ Allow mix to gel for 2-3 min and then remix before use
MEP®. MUR PATE is normally applied by trowel/spatula directly on Level surface
▪ Apply a tight coat of MEP®. MUR PATE to a thickness of approximately 0.5 – 1 mm.
▪ Immediately after application, finish the material with the appropriate tool (trowel/spatula) to achieve the desired smooth finish
▪ In case of second coat application, wait for the product to set completely
▪ Product can be sanded
Allowance for movement
Movement joints should be included as required by the surface and carried through all applied materials
Do not use on:
▪ Wood
▪ Weak mortar or plaster
▪ Other surface (steel, aluminum …)
▪ Do not apply in wet areas
▪ Do not apply more than 1 mm per coat
▪ Do not apply in temperatures below 5ºC or over 35ºC
▪ Avoid application on a very hot surface. This can cause loss of mechanical strength
▪ Mask around the areas where material is to be applied. Masking tape must be removed before the material has dried
▪ Should the product stiffen up due to delays in application then discard the product and mix a fresh batch
▪ Packaging: 6Kg and 24kg Plastic bucket
▪ Handling and storage: 6 months if kept in a dry cool place in the original packaging
In more extreme conditions this period might be shortened
