MEP®. REP SOL is a fibre-reinforced, high strength mortar for the repair of concrete, to both horizontal and vertical surfaces
• Repair of voids and honeycombed areas
• damages in concrete elements
• damages in corners and edges
• peelings concrete
• floor repairs
MEP®. REP SOL is suitable for the repairs in permanent contact with water
Faster strength development than ordinary sand-cement mortar
• Polymer modified to provide a strong bond to concrete
• Suitable for use in dry and wet conditions
• Resistant to foot and vehicular traffic
• The substrate must be firm and resistant, clean, free of any loose particles, oils, grease, dust, paint
• All affected and brittle concrete must be removed until a healthy and structurally strong concrete is found
• All edges to be repaired must be square cut to a minimum of 10 mm deep, perpendicular to the surface, followed by the removal of all unsound material
• Expose all corroded reinforcing steel and remove the rust from the structures. Clean with a wire brush, needle pistols or sand blast to grade SA2 according to ISO 8501-1 / ISO 12944-4
• Pre-wetted up to saturation point (with no free water) prior to application - at least 12 hours before
• Use a bonding slurry made of MEP®. REP SOL mixed with duralatex for non-structural applications
• Use epidermix 344 wet to dry epoxy for structural applications where the bond strength must be equal or greater than the parent material
Mixing ratio: 4.5 lts (+/- 0.5lts) water per 25 kg bag
▪ Gradually add the powder into the required water quantity while mixing to avoid lumps forming
▪ Mix thoroughly using a low speed mechanical mixer to a creamy consistency
▪ Allow mix to gel for 2-3 min and then remix before use
NB: Never add more water to the mix. Should the mortar stiffen up due to delays in application then discard the product and mix a fresh batch
• Apply MEP®. REP SOL to the tacky bonding product (duralatex slurry or Epidermix 344)
• Compact into position and finish as required (float or smooth)
• For vertical repairs, carefully apply the mortar into position in layers of about 10 – 20 mm, and allow to reach initial set before applying the next layers
• For small floor repairs, square cut to a minimum of 10 mm deep perpendicular to the surface and apply a bonding slurry made of duralatex mixed with MEP.REP Sol. On the still wet slurry, compress the repair mortar and level to the required high
• For large floor repairs, apply a bonding slurry made of duralatex mixed with MEP.REP Sol. On the still wet slurry, compress the repair mortar and level to the required high
• For trafficable floor repairs, MEP.PRIM Epoxy should be applied 24h prior application of MEP.REP Sol
Good curing is essential. After the finishing operation, spray with water and cover
Alternatively, spray-apply a proprietary curing membrane with a minimum efficiency of 50%
• Do not apply in wet weather, or in temperatures below 5ºC or over 35ºC
• Wind reduces cement open time and leads to reduced adherence
• Do not add cement, sand or other substances that may affect the properties of the mortar
• Use the specified water for mixing. A larger amount of water reduces the mechanical resistance and increases cracking and shrinkage
• Packaging: 25kg triple-ply paper bags.
• Handling and storage: 6 months if kept in a dry cool place in the original packaging
• In more extreme conditions this period might be shortened
Tools : Low speed mechanical mixer, trowel, sponge
