MEP®. DRY FONDATION is a waterproofing mortar for foundation: basements, cellars, garage companionway walls, boiler rooms, private garages ...

MEP®. DRY FONDATION is a ready-to-mix waterproof mortar. It allows capillary cuts to be made to prevent rising damp in the walls.

  1. Preparation of supports:

    The substrates must be clean, cohesive, dust free, free from cement laitance and oil.
    • Block joints must be suitably filled and leveled.
    • Fill the concrete gravel nests with MEP®. MUR Lisse
    • Round inside corners and wall feet with DURA®. REP FR.
    • The singular points (seals, flushes, pipe passages wall-floor junctions) must be treated to ensure water tightness.

  2. Preparation of the product:

    • Mix with 7 to 7.5 liters of water per 25 kg bag until a flexible and homogeneous mortar is obtained.
    Important: Mix mechanically using a slow electric mixer (300 rpm), until a soft and homogeneous paste is obtained
    • The resulting dough should be left to stand for 2-3 min.

  3. Product Application:

    • Water abundantly the support and wait for the disappearance of the film of water.
    • Apply a first coat of 2 kg/m² with a BMI ("whitewash") brush, covering the surface perfectly.
    • Apply a second coat of approximately 1.5 kg/m² during the day, crosswise to the first coat.
    • In the case of a delayed application of the 2nd coat (more than 12 hours), moisten the 1st coat.
    • To achieve a capillary cut (level): apply two coats of MEP®. DRY FONDATION.

  4. LIMITS OF USE

    • Does not resist cracking of the substrate.
    • Does not mask irregularities in the substrate.
    • Do not apply on floors in traffic.
    • Not intended for horizontal waterproofing (terrace).

  5. RECOMMENDATIONS

    • If there is a risk of substrate cracking: use MEP®. DRY Flex.
    • Do not add water to the mixture during setting.
    • Do not use a mix that has started to set.
    • Avoid application in direct sunlight or rain and protect from wind wherever possible.

  6. PRACTICAL INFORMATION

    • Packaging: 25kg bag.
    • Shelf life: 6 months from the date of manufacture, in original unopened packaging, stored in a dry place.
    • Tools: mixer, trowel, stainless steel smoother, BMI brush.
